Nial Smith signs six-month contract with Lucozade – newsroom Guyana
Lucozade Guyana has forged a partnership with promising Guyanese bowler Nial Smith by signing it for six months. The popular energy drink brand made the announcement on Wednesday via its official Facebook page.
They said Smith is an aspiring rhythm pitcher who has enjoyed a strong 2020 season with the Guyana Jaguars and is one of the cricketers to watch right now. He is part of the Guyana Amazon Warriors squad preparing for the Caribbean Premier League which kicks off Thursday in Saint Kitts and Nevis.
It is understood that Smith and Lucozade recently reached a contractual agreement and the energy drink’s brand manager, Triston Freeman, called the signing “remarkable” for the brand.
Smith noted that working with the Lucozade brand was a “long-standing” dream and stressed that he hopes for a long and successful relationship with the company.
ANSA McAL Trading Limited – the energy drink distributors – have also signed other Guyanese athletes via Carib Brewery: table tennis player Chelsea Edghill (Smalte), West Indian all-rounder Romario Shepherd (Ginseng Up) and athlete from athletics Emmanuel Archibald (Malta Caribbean).
