New sports facilities building unveiled in Woy Woy

The new sports facilities building at Rogers Park, Woy Woy is now complete and ready for use by local sports groups such as Woy Woy Rooster Junior Rugby League Club, Central Coast/NSW Cricket and Peninsula Junior Touch Football.

The improved sports facilities will meet the needs of the growing community on the peninsula and feature ten washrooms (male/female/unisex), one accessible washroom, a canteen with storage, two locker rooms with showers, a referees and three storage areas, as well as accessible toilets.

Council Administrator Rik Hart said this project has provided improved and accessible sports infrastructure, encouraging everyone to participate in sports.

“This new building of accessible sports facilities will help encourage active, healthy lifestyles and create opportunities for meaningful social connections,” Hart said.

“The Council’s delivery of this community facility was made possible through a collaborative partnership and funding from the Australian Government.”

This project is funded by the Australian Government under the Community Development Grants program for $800,000 and the Central Coast Council for the remaining $550,000.
